National workshops – Croatia

Workshop objectives

The workshop was aimed at introducing the project and its outputs to representatives of the Ministry of Health and other institutions involved in programming and managing ESIF linked to health as intended end-users of the outputs developed. Apart from that, the workshop was aimed at opening discussion between various institutions about effective ways of supporting successful implementation of health priorities under ESIF and specific roles of respective institutions in this model.

Workshop content

The main issues discussed at the workshop were as follows:

  • Project outputs
  • Clarification of the ESIF implementation system in Croatia
  • Principles of effective coordination in the ESIF implementation structure
  • ESIF investment critical success factors
  • Project application assessment and relevant indicators in health projects

Workshop participants

The audience consisted of 14 people representing various institutions within the implementation structure and two representatives of the European Commission:

  • Representatives of the Ministry of Health
  • Representatives of Managing Authorities of respective OPs
  • Representatives of other institutions involved in the implementation of ESIF in Croatia (Croatian Employment Institute and Central Finance and Contracting Agency)
  • Representatives of DG REGIO and DG EMPL

Workshop outcome

The main outcome of the presentation was the group activity which allowed the participants to identify the effective competency split between the Croatian Ministry of Health and other institutions involved in the implementation of health priorities. Participants also appreciated parts of the workshop focused on indicators, the full investment lifecycle and good practice examples – all the topics useful for a new Member State.
